Unexpected civic duty (2) Jury service continues to dominate my time during the week. It’s amazing how much energy it sucks up—I keep coming home and falling asleep much earlier than usual. [09:40 AM]

Disappointed as I am that you don't have as much time for your weblog -- and I really am disappointed, it's a regular highlight of my day -- I suspect that your lack of energy probably reflects a real seriousness and commitment to the duties of a juror. Keep up the good work!

To the extent you feel able, I'd be really interested to hear your reflections on jury service when it's done. I'm in the unhappy position of all theory and no practice when it comes to jury service and deliberations (a whole seminar on the Criminal Jury in law school and I've been not needed at jury duty three times), and I'm sure your observations would be interesting.

Hope it doesn't become too traumatic an experience--I understand many people find it very difficult as well as draining.
