New wrinkle: Electrolite’s comments-section moderator is now Teresa Nielsen Hayden. So if you value your vowels, you know what to do.
Be fleet of foot. Be amusing. Remember, no matter what you do:
Life’ll kill ya / That’s what I saidThank you, Warren Zevon, for everything.
Life’ll kill ya / Then you’ll be dead
Life’ll find ya / Wherever you go

And Happy New Year to you all. [12:00 AM]

Don't let us get sick
Don't let us get old
Don't let us get stupid, all right;
Just make us be brave
And make us play nice
And let us be together tonight.
Patrick is worse than Mike Godwin. You have no idea.
Patrick is sitting next to me and laughing very hard.

Oh how lovely, several of my favorite people being silly at each other for New Year's Eve. Happy New Year everybody!

Happy 2003! Lovely evening all around (fans! bheer! conversation! Electrolite mentioned!) capped off with catching the Space Needle fireworks (hey! it's a giant exploding space dildo!)from the vantage of the Alki Bridge in West Seattle, with a young and raucous crowd of revelers. Sarah enjoyed menacing passing traffic.
A peaceful and prosperous year to us all. Bless us, everyone.
Huzzah! Best New Year's I've had in, well, years! I hope it was happy for all of you.
Happy New Year.
I'm just back from The Other Ones' concert at the Oakland Arena, having received a sudden last-minute free ticket in the afternoon.
It was a pretty impressive show, opening after an acoustic Hot Tuna set with a kick-ass Saint Stephen->The Eleven and taking off from there.
It's been ten years since the last time I witnessed this gestalt unfold, and I'd pretty much figured I'd never see anything like it again (which is also what Phil Lesh said to the audience at 2AM, before they played their one-hour encore).
Happy New Year, Patrick and Teresa! Here's hoping 2003 brings you nothing but good things.
Happy New Year. Bright, bright blessings to all who want 'em.
So far, the years of this century have monotonically increased in quality. May that trend continue throughout the century.
'Course, we started with the worst year in my lifetime, but I still have hope.
Prospero Año Nuevo! Gong xi fa cai! Confusion to Karl Rove! (Avram's idea, not mine.)
