Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! There are time where their effrontery leaves one speechless...

Patrick Nielsen Hayden ::: (view all by) ::: January 14, 2003, 04:52 PM:

Uh, say what? Whose effrontery?

Ulrika O'Brien ::: (view all by) ::: January 14, 2003, 05:52 PM:

I'm betting Emma dropped down to the wrong comment link for the Rumsfeld thingy.

Emma ::: (view all by) ::: January 14, 2003, 06:11 PM:

Ulrika's right (blush)

Graydon ::: (view all by) ::: January 14, 2003, 08:02 PM:

What I want to know is how that link indicates you were full of crap; the project still seems entirely like a good idea, and it's actually happening and all.

What am I missing?

Avedon ::: (view all by) ::: January 14, 2003, 09:37 PM:

Well, in Vietnam they only drafted people for a two-year hitch, and they spent only one year in the 'Nam. It was a different matter in WWII, which they won. Maybe it wasn't the fact that they were draftees that was the problem.

How many Kitchenworks salespersons does it take to change a lightbulb at Macworld? And should they teach in seminary that Julian Simon bet Paul Ehrlich that the number would decrease over ten years?

Josh ::: (view all by) ::: January 14, 2003, 11:35 PM:

Graydon: the link shows that Patrick was off-base when he said that the folks at Reason thought "generosity is for chumps, no matter what it's for."

Patrick Nielsen Hayden ::: (view all by) ::: January 15, 2003, 12:04 AM:

Graydon: Josh is correct.

I guess the fact that people keep posting in the wrong thread -- most recently, Avedon -- is a hint that my design needs a bit more tweaking.

Avram ::: (view all by) ::: January 15, 2003, 12:12 AM:

Breaking the post titles out into their own lines would probably help.

hmm, posts by Tuttle, Harry; were supposed to be posts by Tuttle, Archibald. He must be working for somebody or I wouldn't be so confused.

IJWTS that I really admire you when you do this. Would that more people emulated you in this regard.
