I'm beginning to get suspicious about Mr. Drum. How can any one person be so reasonable and informed and intelligent and good humored all the damn time? Calpundit must be some sort of consortium of superheroes who spend all their time surfing the net and writing well reasoned and humorous commentary. Yeah, that's the ticket. So who is that improbably young and handome man pictured on the page?

That's a nice evisceration. It's a pity the target was so easy; I'd like to see if he could do anything with more recent French failings, such as removing all human-rights remarks from a speech just when the Chinese were considering whether to buy Boeing or Airbus....

I wonder if anyone in France is publishing samples of American blogging about France.

This is a French blogger:

These are the European bloggers I know about which link regularly to Americans:

http://www.fredriknorman.com/
http://www.bearstrong.net/blog1.2/
http://screed.blogspot.com/
http://www.iberiannotes.blogspot.com/
http://medlem.spray.se/watch/
http://www.innocentsabroad.blogspot.com/

Occasionally a French person will wander into LGF and hang out for a while. Half of them identify more with American viewpoint and the other half defend European viewpoint. (This is a totally impressionistic fuzzy estimate.)

Is there some reason your comments won't remember my contact data?

I wonder if any French bloggers have published criticisms of Rep. Weldon of Pennsylvania (R) to have CH-47 helicopters removed from the U.S. Munitions List so that his district can have more jobs when those helicopters ("demilitarized," of course) are sold to China (which of course could not possibly "remilitarize" them) which would otherwise be prevented from purchase due to human rights abuses -- specifically the massacre in Tiananmin Square.
