According to a memoir by his son Noah, this Noah Packard was "one who assisted in the Revolutionary struggle with Great Britain, in obtaining American Liberties; he was in the American army at the taking of General Burgoine and his army."

He was a private in the American Revolution. He may have been in Capt. John Jones's company, Col. Ephraim Doolittle's regiment; he appears on a receipt dated 1 Jul 1773, on a roll dated 1 Aug 1775, and on an enlistment record dated 27 Apr 1775 with service of 3 months 12 days.
