Ephraim Doolittle's regiment; he appears on a receipt dated 1 Jul 1773, on a roll dated 1 Aug 1775, and on an enlistment record dated 27 Apr 1775 with service of 3 months 12 days.     He and his wife came from England on the Diligent, which arrived in Hingham, Massachusetts 10 Aug 1638. The Packards were listed on the ship records as Packer and Parker, from Wymondham, Norfolk.

    They removed from Hingham to Weymouth about 1653 (not in 1638 as some records claim), and on to Bridgewater in about 1663. There he was a selectman, a constable in 1664, and in 1670 licensed to keep an ordinary.

    Samuel married Elizabeth. Elizabeth died after 27 Oct 1694. [Group Sheet]

    Came from England to Duxbury before 1643. One of the original proprietors of Bridgewater. Fought in King Philip's War. A carpenter by trade, he opened a tavern in Bridgewater in 1670 which continued under his and his descendants' management for 151 years.

    John married Martha Hayward before 1648. Martha (daughter of Thomas Hayward and Susanna) was born about 1634 in England; died between 1700 and 1703. [Group Sheet]
