  • Notes
    • Also called Robert de la Berge. He emigrated to New France in 1658, in the company of Thomas Touchet, his half-brother by his mother's first husband Jacques Touchet. He spent his first three years working as a contract laborer. In 1663 he married the recently-widowed Françoise Gausse dit Le Borgne and settled in Château-Richer, later named L'Ange Gardien, where he became a respected citizen, notable for building furnaces used for the manufacture of lime.

The house he built in 1674, Maison Laberge, still stands, one of the oldest buildings in Canada. Its address is 14, rue Adrien Laberge, L'Ange Gardien, Quebec, QC G0A 2K0. According to Wikipedia its current owner is one Philip LaBerge, presumably a descendant.
