Notes - Brother of William Poure of Oddington, of whom VCH Oxfordshire (6:276-85) says "It is possible that he was the son of the distinguished civil servant Roger Pauper, Chancellor between 1135 and 1139, and son of the famous Roger, Bishop of Salisbury, by his mistress Maud of Ramsbury. Roger was styled pauper because of the contrast between his own poverty and his father's wealth." Jim Weber observes that "It is interesting that Walter's ultimate heir Agnes Poure m. William Winslow and that William held Ramsbury in 1412."
