  "A graduate of Magdalen College, Oxford (A.B. 1597, A.M. 1602), minister at Leverlegkish near Laughgaid, Armagh, Ireland, at Plymouth, Hull, Cape Ann, and Salem, Mass., and in Va." [Gary Boyd Roberts, Ancestors of American Presidents, citation details below.] He arrived in New England in 1624, possibly on the Charity. A Church of England sympathizer, he was banished by the Plymouth separatists, and within a few years removed to Virginia, where he died.
