    • He was a brewer and a merchant. "William Addis came to Massachusetts in 1640 with the Welsh party led by the Rev. Richard Blinman, a party comprised of Welshmen and persons from Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire, and settled in Gloucester, where he became a townsman in 1642 and later a selectman. [...] He followed the Blinman party to New London, Connecticut, and 19 Dec. 1658 was granted land there." ["William Addis of New London," citation details below.]

      He may have been a son of Thomas and Ann Addis of Frampton-on-Severne. At any rate, we know that his daughter Millicent was baptized there.
