  • Notes 
    • Knight of the shire for Staffordshire in the early 1390s. He appears to have been murdered by one Roger Swynnerton. Certainly the Swynnerton family had motive, as it was this John de Ipstones who abducted Maud Swynnerton after the death of her first husband and forced her to marry John's son William, conveying her property to him.
