  "He, as well as his two sons, took his degree at the University of Cambridge. He was entered as a pensioner from Clare at Easter 1577, received his B.A. degree 1580-81, his M.A. 1584, and his B.D. 1591. He was admitted as a Fellow, ordained Deacon and priest at Peterborough 5 March 1586/7, finally beneficed in Canterbury, his home."
