  "Elias de Worsley, known merely as the father of three sons, was possibly born about 1150, during the dynastic struggle between King Stephen and the Empress Maud. His descendants invented a mythical ancestor of his name who was a giant, lived in the time of William the Conqueror, was a Crusader, fought many battles 'for the love of our Saviour Jesus Christ and obtained many victories,' and finally died and was buried at Rhodes."
