    • Graduated from Harvard in 1660; ordained pastor of the church at Middletown, Connecticut 4 Nov 1668. Of him, Cotton Mather wrote (in Magnalia Christi Americana), "There were more wounds given, by his death, to the Colony of Connecticut in our New England, than the body of Caesar received when he fell wounded in the senate house."
