Went to Jerusalem as a pilgrim with the Second Crusade in 1147; on his return journal, in 1149, he met St. Bernard of Clairvaux, with whom he founded the Cistercian abbey of Cabuabbas di Sindia. Abdicated in 1154 to become a monk at Clairvaux.
