  The Nickerson Family volume 4 (citation details below) says that his wife was "Elizabeth Dobbin, born Nova Scotia, called Betsey, of Port la Tour, probably daughter of William and _____ (_____) Dobbin", citing (among other sources) the History of Barrington Township (citation details below), p. 533. But all that page 533 says is that Knowles Nickerson, son of John Nickerson who "m. Dorothy James of Ireland", married a woman named Elizabeth. Whereas page 586 of the same work clearly says that Elizabeth Swain, daughter of Daniel Swain and Ann Taylor, married Knowles Nickerson.
