"PAYN III, son of Richard, succeeded and married Wenllian, daughter of Sir Richard Talbot, of Richards Castle. He was 'custos' of Glamorgan in 1315, and changed many of the officials, among them Llywelyn Bren (Llywelyn ap Gruffydd) of Eglwysilan.
