Notes - According to Harter History (citation details below), "On 15 Oct 1756 [Henry Harter and Catherine Pfeiffer] were taken prisoners in the French and Indian War and carried to Canada. Mrs. Harter gave birth to a daughter, her first child, while crossing the St. Lawrence River in a canoe. This daughter, Catherine, later married Michael Myers." Early Families of Herkimer County, New York says only that "Hendrick was captured when the French burned German Flats in 1757 and had to run Indian gauntlet."
