• Notes

  Also called Richard Moone. Bailiff of Bridport in 1535, 1537, and 1544-45. Burgess in Parliament for Bridport, 1539. He did not live to 1570, as stated in some pedigrees and as mistakenly stated by G. Andrews Moriarty on one occasion (Moriarty got it right elsewhere). His History of Parliament entry documents that he was dead before 29 Sep 1548. According to the History of Parliament (citation details below). he was possibly a son of John Moone of Ottery St. Mary, Devon.
