  • Notes
    • "In Dawes-Gates Ancestral Lines, Ferris stated, without citing any source, that the name of Walter Tybbot's wife was Mary. No prior source has been found that suggests any first name for Walter's wife, and no evidence has been found that suggests that her name was Mary. She is referred to only as 'my wif' in Walter's will and as 'Widdow Tibbit' in the record of her subsequent marriage to John Harding. It appears likely that Ferris misread a source that referred to Walter Tybbot and his daughter Mary as referring to Walter and his wife." [Chase W. Ashley, citation details below]
