• Notes

  First at Salem in 1637; then in Newbury, then Salisbury, then Haverhill about 1653. Possibly a son of Francis Singletary of Surfleet, Lincolnshire, and his wife Agnes, based mostly on Francis being the earliest person of that unusual surname found in any English record, and the only one who could chronologically have been the father of Richard.
