Notes - Also called Waledar, Wolodar Glebowitsch, Glebovich. Prince of Minsk and Gorodec.
Sophie, wife of King Valdemar I of Denmark, is definitely known to have been a daughter of Richiza, herself a daughter of Boleslaw III of Poland. But the identity of Sophie's father has been much fought over. R. Bruce Diebold's 2022 article, cited below, makes a strong case that Sophie's father was in fact Volodar of Minsk, just as reported by many of the very earliest sources.
Richiza of Poland was married to her third husband, King Sverker I of Sweden, by about 1150; it is supposed by Diebold and others that Volodar and Richiza divorced before then, since Volodar was still alive in 1167 (and, according to some sources, as late as 1178).
- Also called Waledar, Wolodar Glebowitsch, Glebovich. Prince of Minsk and Gorodec.
