  "In 1233 he joined the Earl of Pembroke in reducing many English strongholds in Wales. Later he joined Maelgwn Fychan ap Maelgwn ap Rhys and Rhys Gryg in an attempt against Carmarthen Castle, but Henry Turberville arrived from Bristol with a large army and many ships. Turberville ran a vessel at high tide against a temporary bridge which had been built by the Welsh and broke it down, causing 300 of the Welsh to die."
