    • Constable of Corfe, Devizes, and Ludlow castles. Justice of the peace for Berkshire, 1381-86. Justice of the peace for Oxfordshire 1381-83, 1386, 1397, 1399, 1403-04, 1406. Justice of the peace for Wiltshire 1386, 1391, 1394, 1397-97, 1399, 1401, 1403-06. Member of the king's council, 1403 and 1406. Governor of Banelygham Castle in France.

      He was summoned to Parliament from 28 Dec 1375. In 1385 he was a commissioner in the Scrope vs. Grosvenor heraldic dispute. He accompanied Richard II to Ireland in 1399, but in August of that year he was among the first to join Bolingbroke at Chester, supporting Richard's imprisonment and hailing Bolingbroke as King Henry IV.
