  The will of Alice Hayne, widow of Semley, Wiltshire, dated 2 Mar 1621, proved 2 Mar 1624, establishes her as the mother of Walter Haynes and the grandmother of Sufferance Haynes. The parish register of Sherborne, Dorset shows the marriage, on 23 Oct 1575, of John Hayne to Alice Lambert. It is not proven that Alice Hayne of the will is the Alice Lambert of this marriage, but the dates fit with what we do know. Semley, Wiltshire and Sherborne, Dorset are nineteen miles apart.
