  His 1902 death certificate calls him a widower, but in fact his wife appears to have outlived him; the 4 Mar 1910 Detroit Free Press obituary for Hanna Bell Pearsall calls her "relict of the late Cornelius Pearsall." Probably the death certificate was in error.
