Notes - He was a selectman in 1643, 1666, and (according to George Walter Chamberlain, citation details below) perhaps other years. Chamberlain has him settling at Weymouth "near 1638"; Robert Charles Anderson in The Great Migration Directory says 1637.
In the records, his surname and that of his descendants is also found spelled Pattee, Pettes, Pettis, Pettey, Petty, Pittee, Pittey, and so forth.
