Notes - In a genealogical twist, among Sarah Wickliffe's siblings was Charles Anderson Wickliffe (1788-1869), U.S. Representative from Kentucky, Governor of Kentucky 1839-40, and U.S. Postmaster General 1841-45, and father of Robert Charles Wickliffe (1819-1865), Governor of Louisiana 1856-60. Charles Anderson Wickliffe was also the father of Julia Wickliffe (1835-1913), wife of William Netherton Beckham (1832-1882); they were the parents of John Crepps Wickliffe Beckham, Governor of Kentucky 1900-07, Senator from Kentucky 1915-1921. John Crepps Wickliffe Beckham's wife was Jean Raphael Fuqua (1879-1962), sister of George McFerran Fuqua (1887-1960), husband of PNH's 1st cousin twice removed Margaret Martine O'Bryan (1900-1984), a granddaughter of PNH's great-great grandparents Henry Isaac Newton (1836-1893) and Margaret Matilda Lewis (1840-1919). Thus the Hayden/Newton vortex expands to encompass the matter of Charles Ewing, on its way to its inevitable destiny of swallowing all genealogy on planet Earth.
