  "He is listed several times as a witness in court actions, and once he was brought before the Essex County Court for abusing Salvator Muscoe and Robert Brooke, justices, and for a breach of the Sabbath in playing at cards. He was fined 1 pound for said abuse and 5 shillings for breach of Sabbath. From this we can judge that he was quite human and not exceedingly pious."
