Notes - He was secretary to his uncle, Sir Francis Windebank, Secretary of State under Charles I, and accompanied him on his escape to Paris in 1640. We do not know the dates of his birth or death, but he is mentioned in the nuncupative will of his brother Dr. Thomas Reade dated 7 Mar 1668.
In a letter from Paris to his cousin Thomas Windebank, 19 Mar 1641, he mentions a trunk that had been left behind in his chamber at Whitehall, and regrets its loss, "for there were many good things in it which I had gathered together, and such as had no relation to the State."
