Notes - "The surname Femers is extremely obscure. There was a Farmery family in Northorpe, Lincs., which does not seem to be related (Maddison, Lincolnshire Pedigrees [note 91, 1:347- 48; C. W. Foster, Calendars of Wills and Administrations at Lincoln, vol. 4, Archdeaconry of Stow [etc.], Index Library, 57 [London, 1930], 58, 222). William, who bought land in both Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, may have belonged to a Fermore/Fermers family in Northamptonshire, who were members of Parliament in earlier generations. William's son, William, is identified in one document as "Feamers alias Enderby" (see note 77), but nothing of further value has been found indexed under the surname Enderby."
