Notes - He was a son of either Robert Noyes or his brother John Noyes, both of whom farmed the manor of Ramridge in the parish of Weyhill, Hampshire for the Duke of Suffolk. John farmed Ramridge 1475-84; Robert 1493-97. In another glancing collision between TNH's ancestors and Chaucerland, the first Duke of Suffolk, William de la Pole, who inherited Ramridge from his cousin Thomas de la Pole (d. 27 Jul 1430), was married to Alice Chaucer, granddaughter of the poet.
