• Notes

  He was a freeman of Norwalk in 1680, and a selectman in 1689, 1692-94, and 1699. He became deacon of the Norwalk church on the death of his father. He was a representative to the Connecticut general assembly in 1722 and 1725. The date of his death is unknown, but he is presumed to have been alive in 1727 when his son John is referred to as Deacon John Benedict Junior.
