Notes - He was a freeman at Windsor, Connecticut in 1658, and was later one of the first settlers of Simsbury.
He may have been a son of Thomas Pettibon (1601-1650) and Francis Avery (1598-1667) of Eastbourne, Sussex, whose son John was baptized at St. Mary the Virgin in Eastbourne on 5 Apr 1635. Wikitree contains a great deal of detail based on this idea, but we've been unable to find any conclusive evidence of it.
