  The Genealogical Dictionary of Rhode Island (citation details below) lists her as a daughter of Tristram and Ann Dodge, but no primary record exists to confirm this and much subsequent literature marks it as an error. The Rathbone Genealogy (citation details below) does not name her father. Carl Boyer (citation details below) and others suggest that she might, alternately, have been, the widow of a Thomas Dodge.
