Notes - Knight of the shire for Shropshire, 1529. Sheriff of Staffordshire 1526-27; Sheriff of Shropshire from 1530 to his death. Knighted in November or December of 1529.
The History of Parliament gives his birth as "by 1471", whereas the ODNB (in the entry for his daughter Elizabeth Blount) says 1484. No explanation is obvious for this wide divergence.
He fought at the siege of Tournai on 16 Aug 1513. He later accompanied Henry VIII to France to attend Henry's meeting with Francis I at the Field of the Cloth of Gold.
