  "William, probably the son of William, occurs later in the twelfth century. Between 1185 and 1195, William Salvain and Gerard his brother witnessed a deed of William de Aton. Between 1190 and 1210, William Salvain gave to St. Peter's hospital, York, a toft at Thorpe le Street (Ruhthorp). About 1205, William Salvain and Peter his brother witnessed a deed of Robert son of William Constable of a gift in free dower to his wife Ela, daughter of Fulk de Oiri."
