• Notes

  Keeper of Rochester castle 1236-41. Sheriff (or perhaps under-sheriff) of Kent, 1241-42. Justice of the Common Pleas 1243-50. Charles Fitch-Northen (citation details below) calls him only "of the next generation," suggesting that Fitch-Northen considers it unproved that this John de Cobham was a son of Henry de Cobham.
