  • Notes
    • He enlisted in the US Army on 11 Oct 1941 and was discharged 8 Oct 1945.

We have been inferring that he died in Flint because the Social Security Death Index on ancestry.com gives his death date as 12 Feb 1998 and Flint as his last residence. But an entry in ancestry.com's "Texas, U.S., Death Index, 1903-2000" lists a Richard Gyles Jr. who died in Collin County, Texas on 12 Feb 1998.
