Notes - "King's Serjeant at Law, 1331; Knight of the Bath, Oct 1331; Justice of the King's Bench, 20 Mar 1333-30 May 1333, Justice of the Common Pleas, 30 May 1333-1340 when removed by Edward III on a charge of maladministration; reinstated 10 May 1342 and made chief baron of the exchequer, 2 July 1344; Second Justice of the Common Pleas, from 10 Nov 1345 and Chief Justice, from 26 Oct 1350 to May 1363. Excommunicated by Pope Innocent VI, 1357, for refusing to appear when summoned to answer for a sentence he had delivered against the Bishop of Ely. In 1364, he granted his manor of Alurynton, Shropshire to the Augustinian priory in Osney. In 1369 he withdrew to the Franciscan house at Oxford where he died."
