    • "He supported the rebellious Thomas, Earl of Lancaster, and was killed at the battle of Boroughbridge, in Yorkshire, 16 Mar 1322 when endeavoring to force the bridge. He was buried in the Church of the Friars Preachers, York. At the siege of Caerlaverock, July 1300; knighted with Edward, Prince of Wales, at Westminster 22 May 1306, in preparation for an expedition into Scotland; fought at the battle of Bannockburn (English-Scottish Wars), 24 June 1314."
