         <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Now there's a piece of (arguably) "conceptual art" that is truly evocative, weird, and just plain nifty.</p>

<p>It's also striking how many of his ancestors are "d. Poland, early 1940s."</p>

<p>One of the interesting aspects of moving into middle age is getting to watch as the faces of the people you've known since they (and you) were young turn into various middle-aged faces you knew already.  Ah, you say to yourself, <i>that's</i> where that variety of middle-aged face comes from.  I don't know why this seems relevant to Goldchain's work, but it does.</p>]]>

         <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It also reminds me of a bit of history I'd like to learn more about: the Jewish disapora into Latin and South America. I knew that Frieda Kalo's father was a Jewish German immigrant, but I'd like to learn more about the why and how.</p>]]>
