I'm watching an old "Captain Marvel" movie serial in which the bad guy has a ancient gold scorpion whose legs hold lenses which, when properly positioned, turns sunlight into a disintegration ray.

I think the good Senator could put one of those to good use.

I thought the end of the story was the best part:

The NYT doesn't believe in fact-checking. Thought you knew that by now.

It gets by as well as it does because many of its reporters are far too good for it. Especially in the days of Collins, Warner, and Harshaw.

I thought an Instant Weapon was whatever was at hand when the zombie samurai attack; chair legs, cans of spam, a 2x4 with a nail in it, printer cable (used as garret), old and heavy books, broken beer bottle, fallen electrical cable that a stray wind pulled down...
