Forward to next post: We don’t mind people reading, as long as they aren’t blatant about it

All hail the advent of the computer and the internet, which has put the power to do weird shit into the hands of so many. (via Linnea Anglemark)
That's almost as freaky as Helvitica v. Arial. (via Boing-Boing)

I normally laugh like a maniac, so no change.
It brought to mind a completely (AFAIK) uninstantiated object: a Southern history Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band parody album cover.
To my eternal shame, when it got to the part where the General Lee is chasing the pigs down the road, I said to myself, "Hey! Beau did the driving, not Luke!"
Off to go put my head in the microwave.
But the animation was on a U.K. website, hence the steering wheel would be on the right-hand side, therefore Beau's doing the driving after all...at least, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
So I went and shared that URL with a couple of people, including Kevin.
He went on to share it with his officemate.
The officemate says, "It would be British. . . ."
(He says, "She would know. Her SO is British.")
It does have a certain ineffable Monty Python Animationness about it.
(And furthermore.)
I sent the link to Brooks with your descriptive text. He responded to the descriptive text with "Also, and perhaps at least as important, the power to distribute it" and said I could relay this critically important elaboration. ;)
There's a lot of goofy animation like that around. A really hilarious and awful site that leads to similar stuff is http://www.b3ta.com . Not for the easily offended.
This might help explain why the aliens haven't contacted us yet.
Darkhawk, tell Brooks I actually thought about that when I was posting, and decided that "the power to distribute it" was sufficiently implicit.
Trey, are those the guys who did the animation of the viking kittens?
I took a stab at flash animation after two hours this is all i got hey its kind of cute at least
Steve and Elaine Stiles came down, and we went to Circuit City with them. We were poring over the CD section, and I was gazing with some interest on the first Rhino "Appalachian Stomp" collection. Elaine wandered over and asked what I was looking at.
"Well, this seems interesting to me, somehow. It has the basics of bluegrass on it. The ones everybody knows, and a bunch more. See, here's The Ballad of Jed Clampett, and Foggy Mountain Breakdown, and Dueling Banjos..."
"That's my brother," Elaine (nee Elaine Goodman) said. Sure enough, Steve Goodman is the banjo half of the piece.
Well, to make a long story short, "the end."
What?
Elaine Stiles is Elaine Goodman Stiles as in Steve Goodman? How have I missed knowing this?
But not the same Steve Goodman as the author of "City of New Orleans," I think.
Thanks Teresa. The kids loved it. We've seen it 3 or 4 times now.
Thanks. I needed that. I think.
But I wanted to see the penguin and chipmunk catch up to Burt and, um, oh never mind.

Here's one that might be of interest: animated cat.
This isn't animation, but it's brilliant and hilarious. A DSL connection is recommended. Here's the link.
Heh, that is cute. I like the Klu Klucks Klan at the end.
Mary Kay, that is a wicked, wicked suggestion.
No, the Viking Kittens were originally at rathergood.com. The original Viking Kittens animation is gone from that site (I speculate due to rights issues with the Led Zeppelin song) and has been replaced by an interesting song called "Gay Bar". The original version can, however, be found at this site.
I'm also reminded of "mistranslations", see for example David Larsson's and Magnus Fe4llmar's Daler and the secret weapon (11 MB mpeg). Oh, and make sure to read the disclaimer!
Elaine Stiles is Elaine Goodman Stiles as in Steve Goodman? How have I missed knowing this?
By not going record shopping with Steve and Elaine, I'd guess. That's the only way I found out, and I've even been to a seder with her mom without hearing of it. Modest lot.
