We’ve been without it for over 24 hours now. I expect that if it were humanly possible to get Panix up and running, Panix would be up and running. In the meantime, all we can do is wait.
Panix appears to be at least partially back up now. Not quite as important as our refrigerator working again in the nick of time, but still a relief.
It is; but so far we've gotten the mail from the first hour of the blackout.
Well, email is a store and forward mechanism, so there remains hope that the rest of it will get to you.
Many mail servers use exponential decay on retry times; if panix was down for a whole day, the next retry could be coming at the 2 or 3 day mark for a lot of them.
Is your e-mail still down?
Nope, it's up. You should have gotten mail from me by now.
