I saw the Old Nick Scratch with a prayerbook menu in his hands walking through the Commons in the rain
He was looking for a Church named Holy Fucks
For to get himsef an altar boy

If you hear him praying outside your chapel door
Better not let him in
Sweet young boy got buggered late last night
It was the Devils of Boston again

He's the frock coated gent who ran amuck at Tufts
Lately he's been overheard in Brookline
Better stay away from him
He'd like to bend you over, Jim
I'd like to meet his tailor

comment from Sandy on 25.Jul.05

Now I've got Laurie Anderson's "The day the Devil" stuck in my head.

Not that this is a bad thing.

"The day the devil comes to getcha
He's got a smile like a scar
He knows the way to your house
He's got the keys to your car
And when he sells you his sportcoat
You say: Funny! That's my size. . ."

Weird thing- I think New York and Boston are competing for Home of the Devil, as well as everything else. We think of Boston as home of the Blue Laws, the place where bars close at 1 AM or something silly. I have a half-remembered story, which I can't find a reference for, of Billy Graham coming to New York City and reading from the bible, replacing the words "Sodom and Gomorrah" with "New York City".

Is Boston as sinful as all that?
