Yeah, I've been thinking about him, too.
Most of the stories I know of life in New Orleans came from George on the SFRT and elsewhere. When I think of New Orleans, he's still the first person who comes to mind.
Andrew Fox (the writer of the Effinger tribute) was at Bubonicon in Albuquerque just before Katrina hit New Orleans. Nice guy, and interesting. We've been wondering all week what he got back to in New Orleans, or if he managed to get back at all. (Since he and his wife had a set of young twins with them, I actually hope they've gotten stuck with relatives in New Mexico.)(The grandfather was helping watch the twins at the convention.)
