"Is this show a benefit?"

Aside from the well-documented benefits of listening to live music (improved concentration, increased attractiveness, better luck at lotteries, and a shinier coat), no. Why?

Whisperado tonight -- comment #4 from Howard Peirce

comment from Howard Peirce on 26.Dec.06

P J, I was about to joke that "Henry the Horse" sounds like a Damon Runyon character, which I thought terribly clever, but then I did a quick search to make sure I had the spelling of "Runyon" correct, and found out that, in fact, "Harry the Horse" is a Damon Runyon character. And yet, I somehow managed to miss the Beatles reference.

I swear, I must have at least 150 years' worth of pop-culture detritus swimming around in my brain, randomly linking and unlinking like memetic nucleopeptides.

Have fun tonight, Patrick. As we like to say after a particularly enjoyable gig, you don't get paid for playing music; you get paid for hauling equipment.

I don't know the Runyon reference (although it sounds vaguely familiar). I think we're even (for at least some value of even).

Well, that's six. If the little bears of the north claim the flag of victory, we're all screwed.
