Whisperado, live, tonight
Posted by Patrick at 12:08 PM * 9 comments

Better late than never, I mention that Whisperado will be playing a new venue tonight, the R-Bar at 218 Bowery (between Prince and Spring). $8 cover, open bar from 7 to 8, Whisperado on at 8. New covers, new original songs, new wrong notes on the old ones! Help us celebrate our fifth anniversary as a live band. (Our first gig was the evening of December 25, 2002—close enough.)

I do like "new wrong notes on the old ones." But can you swear that all those wrong notes will be "new," never before mis-chorded or mis-keyed?

5 year anniversary? Congratulations Whisperado!

Now to contemplate what is a good 5th anniversary gift for a band. Tradition indicates wood or silver. Acoustic guitars with silver decoration?
Now I know what* I'll be thinking about today.

*Anniversary gifts are interesting to contemplate/plan. The stats analysis of program participants for the grant I work on, not so much.

Happy anniversary! Wish I could come.

Five years! Woo-hoo!

Congratulations on five years!

Linkmeister, trust me, when I played piano, I played very well with a few different errors every time. The teachers were sure I was a genius, but I never actually got better than when I first sightread it.

And thanks to your mention of having posted this, I stayed over, had a fantasy dream shopping adventure* in SoHo, and caught the gig. "Better late than never," you bet!

Congratulations on the 5 years. I liked the bar (though I do look forward to hearing Whisperado play some place that doesn't have muddy sound some day). It was great hearing some of your new material as well as a few of my favorites. Nice set!

*The fantasy dream became reality: I walked into the LUSH store on Broadway and was told that all bubble bars, melts, bath bombs, and soaps are buy one, get two free through December 29th! Almost everything else in the store is buy one, get one free. Specific offers vary at their retail stores; online orders are supposedly also buy one, get one free, but I didn't look into what's available there. My bubble bar & bomb stash is now nothing short of amazing.

Meanwhile, I left NYC about 32 hours before the gig. Ah well.

Hooray! Wish I could be there!
