Suggestion: Change your password, and manually make sure there is no forwarding set on your account. Missing emails and "deleted unread" notifications that you didn't send could be a sign that someone's tapping your mailbox and they're not very bright about keeping it a secret.

It's been known to happen, sometimes even by people who are supposed to be able to read your email (your employer) but who are unaware that they're causing problems for you.

And it could be one wacky mixup. But change your password, check for forwards, and ask your boss about it, anyway.

I sent Teresa an email about two weeks ago and received no response. I hope that doesn't mean that email sent to her @panix.com address is also failing to arrive.

No, it probably means that, like me, she's swamped with email, and imperfect at responding to everything in a timely fashion.

Panix really is an extraordinarily reliable email provider. I knew that; I should never have given out any other email address.

I'm with Beth @ #2. My eyebrows are raised too. That sounds like some serious email server SNAFUS. I don't see what someone would gain by tapping and re-routing your work email as John @#1 suggested--- then again, rumor has it there is no secret cabal.

Sorry for the technical woes. Some asshat said somewhere that technology was supposed to make our lives easier.

Also, run a virus/spyware checker in full paranoid mode on any computer that might touch that e-mail account.
